If there is a J seat open at the airport just before departure then SWUs will be cleared into it in the predetermined order.
SWUs will get preference over mileage upgrades within the same status band, LPs don’t matter.

My experience was the condo wasn’t available when the total, including fees and taxes, was over $500 a night, per bedroom.
The agent didn’t tell me that or confirm there was a dollar amount.
She just said it’s not available with points.

No, the upgrade list is in order by status (ie. Executive Platinum, Platinum Pro, Gold).
If you don’t have status at the time of your flight, I wouldn’t expect it especially if you won’t at least be Platinum or Platinum Pro at the time.

I would normally agree with you, but I would have to go through both PHL and CDG in February.
Last time I had a connection in Paris we had four hours and almost missed our flight because we couldn’t figure out where we needed to go.
And it would be really inconvenient if I missed a leg or if weather canceled flights, because I am meeting a tour.
