Could look at PayPal bill pay to see if they have your payee.

I just booked Rome to SFO on ITA thru Virgin Atlantic 100k, but if you have Chase UR it’s only 77k with 25% transfer bonus
Maybe it’s the same from SFO to Rome?

It isn’t particularly glamorous but Choice Hotels has lots of options in Tokyo and it is only 8,000 points a night.
I just booked 6 nights for only 48,000 Membership Rewards points!!
The rooms are basically like Holiday Inn and include breakfast but it is super cheap and there are lots of options around town if you want a particular location.
Plus as I said earlier, the points can transfer from Membership Rewards.

Did you specify your AAdvantage number during the card application process?
If so, log in to your account (web or app) and on the details page, near the number of miles you have, look for the phrase “Primary AAdvantage credit cardholder”.
If that appears you’re all set.

Pay my way shows up under the cash rate – do you have that for the same room?
But if the room is FNC eligible, there should be an option when you choose the points room for “Free night”.
Make sure that is selected, not points.

Yes, it is a known issue.
Capital One has said they are working on it but no time frame to fix it.

I am pretty sure based on the terms that a gift card won’t work:
“Eligible purchases do NOT include fees or interest charges, purchases of travelers checks, purchases or reloading of prepaid cards, or purchases of other cash equivalents.”
