Unfortunately, you can no longer buy a one-time pass to a Delta Sky Club due to overcrowding.
To access a Delta Sky Club, you need to meet specific criteria.
You must either have an Amex Platinum Card or a Delta SkyMiles Reserve Amex card, fly Delta One, or fly Business or First Class on a SkyTeam airline other than Delta.
Additionally, you can access the lounge if you fly internationally in Premium Select or a similar class on a SkyTeam airline and have at least Gold Medallion status with Delta, or if you fly internationally in the Main Cabin or a similar class on a SkyTeam airline and have SkyTeam Elite+ status from a SkyTeam airline other than Delta.
Otherwise, you can purchase a Sky Club annual membership, but this is only available if you have Delta Medallion frequent flyer status.

I’ve been in Cairo for the last two days with my family of 6.

Look at the benefits and whether it’s worth the annual fee, but instead of closing you should downgrade to a Chase Freedom.

P1 & P2 have downgraded to the Barclays AA Aviator WITHOUT the RED.
It is a no annual fee and the points I think are only 0.5/$1.
We both did the retention script and were transferred to the Supervisor, we both said we wanted to do a product change to the Barclays Aviator without the RED and they agreed.
Our annual fee was reimbursed, and then we had a new card in the mail with the same number and no longer said RED.

Depends on which credit card you have, but you could purchase it normally and then pay yourself back with the points.
I do that with Capital One Venture X all the time.
Works great for airlines that aren’t in the travel portal.
Otherwise, just pay cash for the Spirit flight and save your miles / points for another trip.

Yes, you can cancel for free within 24 hours on Avianca.
If I remember correctly, the 24 hour cancellation rule applies to both cash and award tickets when the airlines don’t give you the option to hold the tickets for 24 hrs.
If the airlines allow you to hold the tickets for 24 hours, the 24-hour cancelable policy does not apply.
