So just to summarize:
1. Use Amazon Prime Visa to buy Airbnb gift cards to earn 5% cashback.
2. Use your existing cashback for a “statement credit”, essentially paying back what you just spent on the Airbnb gift cards.

I stayed at Grand Bellvue G’Staad where you can redeem Hyatt Points for 45,000 a night.
Retails for 1,200 euros a night.
It isn’t all-inclusive BUT has spa, amazing breakfast, ski concierge, etc.
Absolute 5-star property.
Highly recommend it.

I was in Rome until December 23 and it’s great at Christmas.
Vienna has the best Christmas lights and Venice is amazing because of how uncrowded it is.
I’ve heard nothing but great things about Croatia.
And if you do Northern Scotland, you might see the Northern Lights.

Silver is useful especially when you travel internationally.
It allows you to check luggage that is heavier than normal.
70lbs vs 50lbs on certain routes.
It does boost you above the plebes who do not have status on upgrades.
It also gets you a discount on Clear, I think.
Can be useful for status match opportunities.

Emirates has 3 across for the middle row of 777, so I would avoid that.

Unless they have 2 flights a day, check-in starts about 3.5 hours before scheduled departure.

I’ve not flown Polaris, but I flew Qantas Bus Class from LAX to Sydney and then back to Brisbane to LAX and had a great experience.
Great service and food.
Comfortable sleep with a mattress pad in addition to a comforter (I skipped the PJs).
Food in LA lounge was a miss, though.

You can also buy the points or transfer from Membership Rewards (not a great ratio though)

There would need to be Saver level availability with AA to see it bookable on BA with Avios.
I’m not sure where you’re seeing “Book and upgrade”.
All of the nonstop AA flights on those days are in the 40k range, which is not Saver level.
The Saver level flight below is 11.5k AA miles but has a stop.
BA is not always good at piecing together AA segments so may need to book separately.
BA is a per-segment award program though, so will be ~2x the points needed for the NS saver you’re seeing.

We used an app called Trainline for our Europe rail travel this summer and it worked beautifully.
