FYI Airbnb has goofy rules about using gift cards.
If you book a stay for more than a month, you can’t use gift cards to pay for the stay.

Your alternative is to use the Venture X miles to book a CASH flight on Alaska and redeem Venture X miles to pay the bill at 1 cent per point.
Might not be the optimal use but it means no cash out of pocket for you I guess?

I can’t answer to the price but we went on the Princess Cruise to Alaska with the four-day land package.
It was amazing and I felt like Princess took our hand from the moment we landed in Fairbanks and didn’t let go until the moment we cruised into Vancouver.
Such was the level of care and attention every step of the way.
It was awesome and I wish you a glorious trip to this amazing destination!!!!

I always use both Flight Aware and also the app for the airline I’m flying but interested to hear what others use as well.

Well Virgin is easy because you can transfer points in over the phone.
I would not create “fake” bookings because sometimes that will take up the award space that you need

I know there are a few cruises that are nice from Vienna to Germany, that do the Christmas market stops.
That could be lovely and less crowded/touristy.
I’m sorry you won’t get to see your family. terrible times.
Otherwise, maybe hop to Sardinia or Corsica or one of the lesser spots.

Weirdly enough, I was exploring Air France flights from LAX-BRU & the CDG-BRU section was on the train.
I realize that isn’t exactly what you meant but it is using miles for train travel in Europe.
